Passion
My passion is to be like my cousin, who is going to be a doctor. My interests have always been in medicine. To be a doctor, one needs to have a passionate character so he can communicate with the patients well to understand them. A teacher who used to teach me in primary school told me this:” Life is short, achieve what you want to achieve while you are still young. Do not regret that you took time for granted when you grow old.” I was deeply touched and motivated by this sentence. This sentence ultimately changed my life forever.
I began to think of what I wanted to be when I grow up. I was always fascinated by the ways doctor used their instruments and tools. I am also fascinated by the chemicals involved to make the correct medicine. But to be a doctor, one has to be not only smart, but have a compassionate heart. A doctor saves lives and gives happiness to the patient by making him well. When we see the patient get well, not only does the patient feel happy, we have a sense of satisfaction too. I then decided, I will be a doctor when I grow up. We all feel joy when giving. Therefore, to give is better then to receive.
Since young, I had always tried to make friends with people and work with them, this, I believe, will help me to be socially confident. I also liked the festive seasons as we not only get to receive. More importantly, we get to give. I believe that grades are not everything. We should have character.
Many people nowadays, study for the sake of the grades and to get a good future. They often lack the character, and most importantly, they forget who they are. I believe, we should not study for the sake of studying, think of our ambition, what we want to be, what is required for it and work from there. With that mindset, we will learn that we are actually studying not for the sake of studying, but instead for the happiness that it brings in the future. The grades will only come if you have the motivation and the right attitude. I myself, though in a triple science class with homework to complete everyday, still set some time aside for my own relaxation such as tennis and fencing for destress. It would be pointless if I did not know anything except study. Imagine having no life. Just work, work, work. What would you learn in life? Nothing. Without character and passion, no one would want to employ you. Even if you open a clinic yourself, after the first visit, many patients would not even bother coming back after the first time.
People who have passion and ambition definitely live a more meaningful life compared to others who do not have passion or ambition. When one has passion, he treats people with respect. In return, people will treat him with respect too. Thus it is easy for a passionate person to build friendship. It will bring you far in life too. When many people know you are passionate and care about them. They will learn to treasure you, and you will also be able to achieve whatever you want.
I believe, having a sense of direction and passion in your life will go a long way in helping you to be what you want to be. Be it psychologically or physically, this sense of direction and passion give you a calm mind and body. When you think that you are tired and do not want to study anymore, think of your ambition, whatever you want, work for it. There is no free lunch in this world. Our life is in our hands, we control it. We choose our decisions; we decide them wisely and carefully. No doubt life is not a bed of rose , however, nothing is impossible in this world. When there is a will, there is a way. Go for it.
